Minto, Manitoba
Minto is an unincorporated community recognized as a local urban district located in the Municipality of Grassland, Manitoba, Canada. A railway point for the Canadian National railway and post office was located in Minto. It was named in 1899 for Sir Gilbert Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 4th Earl of Minto. He was the Governor General of Canada at the time. Transportation Minto is located south of Brandon at the southern end of the concurrence of Manitoba Highways 10 and 23. These routes connect it to several other communities in the region, as well as the North Dakota border at the International Peace Garden and the Pembina Valley region of the province. A local urban district is a type of unincorporated community within the Canadian province of Manitoba. According to ''The Municipal Act'', a local urban district is a locality wholly within a rural municipality that "has at least 250 residents and a population density of at least 400 residents per square kilometre or such other density as the minister may in a specific case consider sufficient for the type and level of services to be provided in the local urban district". Manitoba Highway 10
Provincial Trunk Highway 10 (PTH 10) is a provincial primary highway located in the Canadian province of Manitoba. PTH 10 begins at the International Peace Garden along the Canada–United States border near Boissevain. The highway runs north through Brandon, Dauphin, Swan River, and The Pas to the Saskatchewan boundary at Flin Flon. The speed limit is 100 km/h. PTH 10 is designated as the John Bracken Highway between the International Peace Garden and Riding Mountain National Park, and the Northern Woods and Water Route between Dauphin and The Pas. The highway also serves as the main route through Riding Mountain National Park. At in length, PTH 10 is currently the longest highway in the province. Still Standing (Canadian TV Series)
''Still Standing'' is a Canadian television series, which premiered on CBC Television in summer 2015. The show's tagline slogan is "towns that are against the ropes but still hanging in there", reflecting the show's premise to tell the "story of small towns in Canada and how they overcome struggles". It is based on the Danish television series '' Gintberg på kanten'' (''Gintberg on the edge''). A hybrid comedy and reality series, the program features actor and comedian Jonny Harris. In each episode, Harris travels to small Canadian communities which are financially struggling but "still standing" and spends time getting to know the residents and their lifestyles. International Peace Garden
The International Peace Garden ( French: ''Jardin international de la paix'') is a park located adjacent to the International Peace Garden Border Crossing along the Canada–United States border between the province of Manitoba and the state of North Dakota.
