Minnesota United FC was a lower-tier American professional association football, soccer team based in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area in Minnesota. Founded in 2010 as NSC Minnesota and later known as Minnesota Stars FC, the team played in the North American Soccer League (2011–2017), North American Soccer League (NASL), a professional league sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation. The team won the 2011 NASL championship. On March 25, 2015, Major League Soccer announced it had awarded an expansion franchise to the Twin Cities and McGuire's ownership group to begin play in 2017. Vancouver Whitecaps Football Club is a Canadian professional Association football, soccer club based in Vancouver. The Whitecaps compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Western Conference (MLS), Western Conference. The 2012 Minnesota Stars FC season was the club's third year of existence and their first season under the simple moniker ''Minnesota Stars'' after being called ''NSC Minnesota Stars'' for their first two seasons of existence. Brian Cvilikas (born March 16, 1984, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado) is a former American soccer player. He now is a US Soccer Federation certified A License Coach. Career College and amateur Cvilikas grew up in Colorado, attending Highlands Ranch High School where he was a first team All State soccer player. He then attended Old Dominion University where he played on the men's college soccer team from 2002 to 2005. He was the 2005 CAA Player of the Year, and was named College Soccer News and Soccer America National Player of the Week. He led the CAA in scoring with 15 goals. He earned NSCAA All-American honors. Simone Bracalello (born October 21, 1985), also known in Italy as Bracca, is an Italian former footballer who played as a Striker. Career Italy Born in Genoa, Bracalello was a member of the youth academy at famed Italian club Sampdoria before making his professional debut in 2002 aged 17 playing with Savona in Serie C2. Andres Arango (born April 23, 1983) is a former soccer player who played in the Canadian Professional Soccer League, USL A-League, and the North American Soccer League. Arango is currently a coach with Florida Premier FC in the United Premier Soccer League. Born in Colombia, he represented Canada at youth level as a player.
