The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Cooperatives was a ministry of the Government of Tanzania. Under the first Magufuli Cabinet it was merged into the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries. The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries was a former ministry of the Government of Tanzania. History The Ministry was formed by the amalgamation of the former Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Cooperatives and Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries Development in John Magufuli's first cabinet. The ministry was split again into two similar ministries in October 2017 to improve efficiency, creating the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries. Sokoine University Of Agriculture
Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) is a public university in Morogoro, Tanzania, specializing in agriculture. The university is named after the country's second prime minister Edward Sokoine. Historically, SUA traces its roots to 1965 when it emerged as a program of the then-international University of East Africa. When that was dissolved in 1970, the Tanzanian agriculture program fell under the purview of the University of Dar es Salaam. Finally, it was spun off as a university in its own right in 1984. SUA has five campuses, and contains five academic colleges and two schools. It provides bachelor's, master's, and PhDs in a variety of fields, many of which center around agriculture.
