The minister of justice and attorney general of Canada () is a dual-role portfolio in the Canadian Cabinet. The officeholder in the role of Minister of Justice () serves as the minister of the Crown responsible for the Department of Justice and the justice portfolio, and in the role of Attorney General (), litigates on behalf of the Crown and serves as the chief legal advisor to the Government of Canada. Sean Fraser (politician)
Sean Simon Andrew Fraser (born June 1, 1984) is a Canadian lawyer and politician who is the minister of justice and Attorney General of Canada. A member of the Liberal Party, Fraser has served as the member of Parliament (MP) for Central Nova since 2015. He joined Cabinet in 2021 as the minister of immigration, refugees and citizenship, and was the minister of housing, infrastructure and communities from 2023 to 2024. John Turner
John Napier Wyndham Turner (June 7, 1929September 19, 2020) was a Canadian lawyer and politician who served as the 17th prime minister of Canada from June to September 1984. Louis Stephen St. Laurent (; February 1, 1882 – July 25, 1973) was a Canadian lawyer and politician who served as the 12th prime minister of Canada from 1948 to 1957. Sir John Sparrow David Thompson (November 10, 1845 – December 12, 1894) was a Canadian lawyer, judge and politician who served as the fourth prime minister of Canada from 1892 until his death in 1894.
