Mille Lacs County, Minnesota
Mille Lacs County ( ) is a county in the East Central part of the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 26,459. Its county seat is Milaca. The county was founded in 1857, and its boundary was expanded in 1860. Mille Lacs County is included in the Minneapolis- St. Paul Metropolitan Statistical Area. A portion of the Mille Lacs Indian Reservation is in the county. Etymology The name ''Mille Lacs'', meaning "thousand lakes" in French, was associated with Mille Lacs Lake in the region. (Its full name in French was ''Grand lac du pays des mille lacs''.) This is the largest lake in the Brainerd Lakes Area, which French colonists and traders called the "Region of the Thousand Lakes" (''Pays des mille lacs''). Mille Lacs Lake ( , also called Lake Mille Lacs or Mille Lacs) is a large, shallow lake in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It is located in the counties of Mille Lacs, Aitkin, and Crow Wing, roughly north of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. ''Mille Lacs'' means "thousand lakes" in French. Isanti County ( ) is a county in the east-central part of the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 41,135. Its county seat is Cambridge. History The county was formed on February 13, 1857. Its name came from the Izaty Indians, the ancient name for the Santee Indians, members of the Dakota alliance. ''Isanti'' is derived from the Dakota word for "knife" and refers to the Santee tribe. Isanti County is included in the Minneapolis- St. Paul- Bloomington Metropolitan Statistical Area. Minnesota State Highway 23 (MN 23) is a state highway that stretches from southwestern to northeastern Minnesota. At in length, it is the second longest state route in Minnesota, after MN 1. MN 18 is an indazole-based synthetic cannabinoid that is an agonist for the cannabinoid receptors, with ''K''i values of 45.72 nM at CB1 and 11.098 nM at CB2 and EC50 values of 2.028 nM at CB1 and 1.233 nM at CB2, and has been sold online as a designer drug. It is the indazole core analogue of NNE1. Given the known metabolic liberation (and presence as an impurity) of amantadine in the related compound APINACA, it is suspected that metabolic hydrolysis of the amide group of MN-18 may release 1-naphthylamine, a known carcinogen.
