Mill Creek, Del Norte, California is a major tributary to the Smith River in Del Norte County in extreme northwestern California, on the West Coast of the United States. Much of Mill Creek flows through the Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park. Mill Creek watershed is south of the Smith River. Redwoods Rising a joint venture of the Save the Redwoods League, California State Parks, and the National Park Service has been working since 2018 to restore logged Coastal Redwood trees in the Mill Creek watershed. Mill creek is also fed from the West Branch of the Mill Creek and East Fork of the Mill Creek. Bummer Lake Creek feeds the East Fork of the Mill Creek. Redwoods Rising
Redwoods Rising is a joint venture of the Save the Redwoods League, California State Parks, and the National Park Service that works together to restore logged Coastal Redwood forests, and help remain Old-growth forest, old growth forests in Redwood National and State Parks. Redwoods Rising also works with local Indigenous peoples of California, Native American tribes. Redwoods Rising was founded in April 2018 at an event in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. Redwood National and State Parks as of public lands, of this land were commercially logged in the past. About 96 percent of the world's old-growth coast redwood forest has been logged. The Redwood National and State Parks (RNSP) are a complex of one United States national park and three California state parks located along the coast of northern California. Save The Redwoods League
Save the Redwoods League is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to protect and restore coast redwood (''Sequoia sempervirens'') and giant sequoia (''Sequoiadendron giganteum'') trees through the preemptive purchase of development rights of notable areas with such forests. It relies on donations from private individuals as well as funding from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and investments to buy, restore, and provide public access to redwood forest lands.
