Milka Tadić
Milka Tadić, or Milka Tadić Mijović, is a well-known Montenegrin journalist, media executive and international civic activist. She holds a master's degree in political science and journalism from University of Montenegro, and a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Belgrade. Biography Milka Tadić Mijović was one of the co-founders and the executive director of ''Monitor'', the first private independent weekly established in Montenegro in 1990. That same year, she was also one of the founders of the multi-ethnic, reform oriented organization Association for the Yugoslav Democratic Initiative (UJDI). Tadić Mijović was the first journalist in Montenegro dismissed from job for criticizing Slobodan Milošević's nationalistic policies. The University of Montenegro () is a national public university of Montenegro. Its central administration and most of its constituent faculties are located in the country's capital Podgorica, with campuses in Nikšić, Cetinje, and Kotor. ''Monitor'' () is a weekly news magazine published in Podgorica. History Started on October 19, 1990 by journalist Milka Tadić Mijović, media publisher Miodrag Perović and businessman Stanislav Koprivica, the magazine appeared at a time when the single-party political system in SFR Yugoslavia had been abolished and its constituent republics were preparing for parliamentary elections with multiple parties. Association For The Yugoslav Democratic Initiative
The Association for the Yugoslav Democratic Initiative () was a political party in SFR Yugoslavia. It is widely considered the first independent all-Yugoslav political movement. UJDI's basic tenets were the transformation of the state through democratization, freedom of thought and political activity, including free multi-party elections, as well as the support for Yugoslavia as a united federal state, as opposed to centralism and separatism. Slobodan Milošević ( sr-Cyrl, Слободан Милошевић, ; 20 August 1941 – 11 March 2006) was a Yugoslav and Serbian politician who was the President of Serbia between 1989 and 1997 and President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia from 1997 until Overthrow of Slobodan Milošević, his оverthrow in 2000. Milošević played a major role in the Yugoslav Wars and became the first sitting head of state charged with war crimes.
