Miljenko Stančić
Miljenko Stančić (1 March 1926 – 13 May 1977) was a Croatian painter and graphic artist born in Varaždin. He is famous for his vast painting oeuvre of Varaždin cityscapes. Along with Ljubo Ivančić, Ivan Kožarić, Valerije Michieli and Josip Vaništa, he was a member of the Grupe Petorice (Group of Five) which was active in the 1950s in Zagreb. Besides painting, he also did illustrations for newspapers, books and magazines, as well as scenography (he was a scenographer for ''In Agony'', a play by Miroslav Krleža, 1959). He was an assistant professor at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb (1961), and was appointed full professor in 1970 (where he worked until 1977). Igor Zidić
Igor Zidić (born 10 February 1939) is a Croatian art historian, art critic, poet and essayist. He is considered an expert on Croatian modern art. Zidić was born in Split, where he graduated from the Classical Gymnasium. He obtained a diploma in art history and comparative literature from the University of Zagreb in 1964. Zidić became the editor of ''Hrvatski tjednik'' in 1971, but lost his job after the magazine was shut down by the Yugoslavian government. Zidić was a director of Modern Gallery in Zagreb from 1989 to 2008. Vladimir Nazor Award
The Vladimir Nazor Award () is a Croatian prize for arts and culture established in 1959, and awarded every year by the country's Ministry of Culture. Named after the writer Vladimir Nazor (1876–1949), the prize is awarded to Croatian artists for achievements in six different fields of art and culture. In each category two separate prizes are awarded: one for life achievement, in recognition of their career in their respective field; and another one, commonly referred to as the "annual award," for a single piece of outstanding work in the winner's field, created over the previous 12 months.
