Mike Stojanović
Momčilo "Mike" Stojanović ( sr-Cyrl, Момчило Мајк Стојановић, ; 26 January 1947 – 18 November 2010) was a professional soccer forward most notably playing in the North American Soccer League (1968–1984), NASL. Born in Yugoslavia, he represented the Canadian men's national soccer team, Canadian national team. Early life Mike Stojanović, nicknamed Stole in Serbian and Stollie in English, was born on 26 January 1947 in Lapovo (Socialist Republic of Serbia, PR Serbia, Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, FPR Yugoslavia) to parents Vitomir and Ruža. Club career Early career Stojanović spent time in the Yugoslav First League in 1969 with FK Radnički 1923, Radnički Kragujevac where he assisted the club in successfully avoiding relegation to the second tier. Lapovo
Lapovo ( sr-Cyrl, Лапово) is a town and municipality located in the Šumadija District of central Serbia. The population of the town is 6,057 according to the 2022 census. History The first mention of ''Lapovo'' dates from the 12th century when Stefan Nemanja conquered region of Lepenica from Bizanthy. The Yugoslav First League ( Bosnian: Prva savezna liga u fudbalu, sr-Cyrl-Latn, Прва савезна лига у фудбалу, Prva savezna liga u fudbalu, , , , , ) was the premier football league in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (1918–1941) and Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1945–1992). The New York Cosmos (simply the Cosmos in 1977–1978) were an American professional association football, soccer club based in New York City and its suburbs. Rochester Lancers (1967–1980)
The Rochester Lancers were an American soccer team that competed in the American Soccer League (ASL) from 1967 until 1969, and in the North American Soccer League (NASL) from 1970 to 1980. The team was based in Rochester, New York, and played home games at Holleder Memorial Stadium. The Lancers won the 1970 NASL Championship and was the only NASL team to compete in the CONCACAF Champions' Cup. Dragan "Don" Popovic (Serbian Cyrillic: Драган Дон Поповић; born 1 January 1941) is a retired professional soccer midfielder and coach in the United States. He played professionally in Yugoslavia, Canada and the North American Soccer League. He later coached in both the North American Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League. CONCACAF Champions' Cup
The CONCACAF Champions Cup, formerly known as CONCACAF Champions League (2008–2023), is an international association football competition organized by CONCACAF as its top continental tournament for clubs from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. The champions automatically qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup. The tournament currently uses a knockout format; it had a group stage prior to the 2018 edition. The National Soccer League was a soccer league in Canada that existed from 1926 to 1997. Teams were primarily based in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec.
