Mihály Iváncsics
Mihály Iváncsics (1893–1968) was an international association football, football referee in the 1920s and 1930s. He was a linesman in the 1934 FIFA World Cup Final, played between Italy national football team, Italy and Czechoslovakia national football team, Czechoslovakia in Rome. Iváncsics, a contemporary of fellow Hungarian referees Gabor Boronkay, Josef Gero and Paul von Hertzka, had already gained vast experience as an international referee in the 1920s, taking charge of matches as far back as 1926 between Italy and Switzerland national football team, Switzerland in Zurich. Louis Baert
Louis Andre Baert (29 December 1903 – 11 July 1969) was an international football referee from Belgium, particularly active during the 1930s. Baert first came to international prominence in the 1934 FIFA World Cup in Italy. He was selected as the referee for the quarter-final match between Italy, the hosts, and Spain. Bert initially disallowed an equalising goal from Italy, but changed his decision after protests from the Italian team. In a 2010 Sports Illustrated article, Georgina Turner suggested that Mussolini's influence may have affected the refereeing at the World Cup. He was selected to run the line with Ivan Eklind in both the semi-final and the final, and went on to have a lengthy international career as a referee. Hungarian–Romanian War
The Hungarian–Romanian War (; ) was fought between Hungary and Kingdom of Romania, Romania from 13 November 1918 to 3 August 1919. The conflict had a complex background, with often contradictory motivations for the parties involved.
