Miguel Guimarães
José Miguel Ribeiro de Castro Guimarães (born 22 January 1962) is a Portuguese doctor and politician. He has a degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto and a specialist in Urology (since 1997) at Centro Hospitalar São João (CHSJ). He has been a member of the transplant team at Hospital de S. João since 1994, having participated in more than 400 kidney transplant surgeries. In 2005, he obtained the Competence in Health Services Management from the Ordem dos Médicos. The Order of Physicians () is the public entity that serves as the regulatory and licensing body for physician, medical practitioners in Portugal. As a Professional Order (Portugal), professional order, it is responsible for licensing physicians to practice medicine, for the Deontological ethics, deontological norms that regulate the medical profession, it has an autonomous disciplinary regime, and represents the profession vis-à-vis the public authorities. It was first established in 1898, as the Association of Portuguese Physicians (), the first of its kind in the country. It was incorporated as the Order of Physicians by Decree-Law No. 29 171 of 24 November 1938, and its first Chairman (with the distinctive title of ''Bastonário''; literally, Mace-Bearer) was Elísio de Moura, Elísio de Azevedo e Moura (1877–1977). 2024 Portuguese Legislative Election
Snap election, Snap legislative elections were held on 10 March 2024 to elect members of the Assembly of the Republic (Portugal), Assembly of the Republic to the 16th Legislature of Portugal.
