Miguel Díaz (boxing)
Miguel Angel Diaz (born 1938) is an Argentina, Argentine boxing Boxing training, trainer who has trained fighters from Latin America and from the United States. Diaz was selected to receive the Futch–Condon Award for the 1999 Trainer of the Year by the Boxing Writers Association of America, and was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame on November 15, 2008. Diaz began boxing when he was eight years old, and experienced twenty-seven amateur outings, but had a very short career as a professional boxer, having only one fight and then retired from boxing as a fighter. Diaz moved to Los Angeles, California, where he established the Miguel Diaz boxing gym. One of his first world champions was Pedro Decima. He also trained Erik Morales who knocked Daniel Zaragoza out in eleven rounds at El Paso, Texas for the World Boxing Council, WBC world Bantamweight championship. Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez (; born 20 April 1960) is a Cuban politician and engineer. He has served as the 8th First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba since 2021 and as the 17th president of Cuba since 2019. In his capacity as First Secretary, he is the most powerful person in the Cuban government. Miguel Aurelio "Angá" Díaz Zayas (June 15, 1961 – August 9, 2006) was a Cuban percussionist. He was a well-known ''conguero'' who also played the cajón, güiro and timbales. Life and career Miguel Aurelio Díaz Zayas was born in San Juan y Martínez in the Pinar del Río Province in Cuba. He is of Yoruba descent. Angá is a nickname he shared with his father. He began playing early, performing and recording professionally whilst still at college. In 1987, he made his name as a member of the pioneering Latin jazz Grammy award-winning group Irakere and it was with them he perfected his five drum technique. Miguel Díaz de la Portilla (born January 30, 1963) is a Cuban-American attorney and politician from Florida. A Republican, he served in the Florida Senate from 2010 to 2016, representing parts of Miami, Coral Gables, and the surrounding area. Prior to that, he was a member of the Miami-Dade County Commission from 1993 to 2000. Early life and education Díaz de la Portilla's great-grandfather served in the Cuban Senate, while two of his great-uncles served simultaneously in the Cuban House of Representatives. Miguel Angel Díaz (born November 28, 1994) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher in the San Francisco Giants organization. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Diego Padres, Detroit Tigers, and Houston Astros. Miguel Brito dos Reis Dias (born April 1, 1968, in Santa Maria, Cape Verde, Santa Maria) is a retired boxing, boxer from The Netherlands, who was born on Cape Verde. He represented the Netherlands at the Boxing at the 1992 Summer Olympics, 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, where he was eliminated in the first round of the bantamweight division (– 54 kg) by Tunisia's Riadh Klai.
