Midtown Greenway
The Midtown Greenway is a rail trail in Minneapolis, Minnesota that follows the path of an abandoned route of the Milwaukee Road, Milwaukee Road railway. It is considered under segregated cycle facilities. Used both recreationally and for commuting, the partially below-grade Greenway runs east–west about one block north of Lake Street (Minneapolis), Lake Street. It provides bicycle, cyclists, inline skates, inline skaters, running, runners and pedestrians an almost automobile-free route across the city. History The greenway (landscape), Greenway lies in a former Milwaukee Road railroad corridor along 29th Street. Martin Olav Sabo Bridge
The Martin Olav Sabo Bridge is a pedestrian bridge, bridge in the city of Minneapolis and the first Cable-stayed bridge, cable-stayed suspension bridge in the U.S. state of Minnesota. Formerly the Midtown Greenway Pedestrian Bridge, it was renamed in honor of former United States Representative, Representative Martin Olav Sabo, a fourteen-term member of Congress from Minnesota. Opened and dedicated in November 2007, the bridge crosses Hiawatha Avenue (Trunk Highway 55) north of 28th Street East and just south of 26th Street East, joining Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the Minneapolis Midtown Greenway at Hiawatha Avenue, allowing a continuous biking connection across the city. Minnesota State Highway 55 (MN 55) is a state highway that runs across the central part of state taking a diagonal route from its western most at the North Dakota state line near Tenney to its easternmost point at the intersection with U.S. Highway 61 (US 61) in Hastings. Kenilworth Trail
The Kenilworth Trail is a paved bicycle trail in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. It runs nearly and acts as a connector between the Cedar Lake Trail in the north and the Midtown Greenway in the south. Like the Cedar Lake Trail, most of the route is composed of a triple-divided cycleway/pedway with a pair of one-way paths for bicycles and another path for pedestrians. On some maps, a southern segment of the Kenilworth Trail is called the Burnham Trail. The trail corridor has been considered the most highly trafficked in the Minneapolis park system. Access At its northern end, it is easy for westbound Cedar Lake Trail users to accidentally get on the Kenilworth Trail, since continuing on the Cedar Lake trail requires taking a right turn at a "T" intersection just south of Interstate 394. Southwest Corridor (Minnesota)
The Southwest LRT ( Metro Green Line Extension) is an under–construction light rail transit corridor in Hennepin County, Minnesota, with service between Minneapolis and Eden Prairie. The estimated one-way travel time from Southwest Station in Eden Prairie to Target Field Station in Minneapolis is 32 minutes. The Southwest LRT will extend through St. Louis Park, Hopkins and Minnetonka along the route. Major locations on the line will include Bde Maka Ska, Cedar Lake, the Walker Art Center, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden and Target Field in downtown Minneapolis. Southwest LRT Trail
Southwest LRT Trail is a system of shared-use paths for bicycles and pedestrian paths that extends through several western suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota. They are operated by the Three Rivers Park District. Two former rail corridors originally built by the Minneapolis and St. Louis Railway were acquired and converted to trails in anticipation of the Southwest Corridor (Minneapolis), Southwest Corridor light rail project.
