Midelt Ayachi
Midelt (Arabic: ميدلت) is a town in Morocco, in the high plains between the Middle Atlas and High Atlas mountain ranges. With a population of 55,304 recorded in the 2014 Moroccan census, Midelt serves as the commercial center of a large agricultural hinterland. It is also one of Morocco's principal cities for the mining of several minerals. History Midelt grew in the first half of the 20th century around a French administrative post by the same name. Previously, villages and ''ksar, ksour'' had dotted the fertile surroundings. The French established their post to facilitate the mining of lead, gypsum, other minerals, and fossils in the nearby Ahouli and Mibladen mines and elsewhere. The development of these mines led to the construction of a railroad from Midelt to the Mediterranean Sea, Mediterranean coast and the electrification of Midelt in 1930. Imilchil
Imilchil or Imilshil ( , ) is a small town in Midelt Province of central Morocco, in the Atlas Mountains with a population of about 1,858. It is located at an elevation of 2119 m in the valley of Asif Mellulen ("white river"). The area of Imilchil is home to the Ayt Hdiddu tribe, belonging to the Ait Yafelman confederation, and the inhabitants speak Central Atlas Tamazight. Tourist attractions in the area include the caves of Axyam (Akhyam), the Aguni waterfalls, the Ziz Gorges and Valley and the ''igherman'' castles (ksars) of the area. Climate Due to its altitude, Imilchil has a severe humid continental climate (''Dfb''), according to the Köppen system due to its below-freezing average temperature for the coldest month.
