Micheál Burns
Micheál Burns (born 1996) is an Irish Gaelic footballer. At club level he plays with Dr Crokes GAA, Dr Crokes, and at inter-county level with the Kerry senior football team. Career Burns first played Gaelic football to a high standard as a schoolboy at St. Brendan's College, Killarney, St Brendan's College in Killarney. He began his club career at juvenile and underage levels with Dr Crokes GAA, Dr Crokes and won a Kerry MFC medal in 2014. Burns later progressed to adult level and won three successive Kerry Senior Football Championship, Kerry SFC medals from 2016 to 2018. Two of these wins were converted into Munster Senior Club Football Championship, Munster Club SFC titles before claiming an All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship, All-Ireland Club SFC medal after a defeat of Slaughtneil GAC, Slaughtneil in the 2016–17 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship#All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship, 2017 final. Dr Crokes GAA
Dr Crokes is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in Killarney in County Kerry, Ireland. Notable players include Colm Cooper, Eoin Brosnan, Johnny Buckley and Tony Brosnan. Founded in 1886, the club's successes include the capture of the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship in 1992 and 2017. The club has won the Munster Club Championship on eight occasions - 1991, 1992, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2018. The club has won the Kerry Senior Football Championship on fourteen occasions, most recently in the 2024 Kerry Senior Football Championship. Dr Crokes is the only club in Killarney with a hurling team, which has won the Kerry Intermediate Hurling Championship in 1999 and 2001. Kerry's 2007 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship winning team was trained by former Dr Crokes trainer Pat O'Shea.
