MKS Zagłębie Lubin is a men's handball club from Lubin, Poland, that plays in the Superliga. History The club was founded in 1967 under the name Górnik Lubin. His first coach was Szymon Kanigowski. The team reached the Polish top division for the first time at the end of the 1990/1991 season, already under the name Zagłębie Lubin. SPR Chrobry Głogów is a men's handball club from Głogów, Poland, that plays in the Superliga. History In 1961, thanks to Henryk Tryka and Ryszard Matuszak, the handball era began in Głogów. In 1968, the team was promoted to the second division. In 1973, the team coached by Ryszard Matuszak achieved third place in the second league. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team. The 2013 World Men's Handball Championship was the 23rd World Men's Handball Championship, an international handball tournament that took place in Spain from 11 to 27 January 2013. This was the first time Spain hosted the World Men's Handball Championship, becoming the twelfth country to host the competition. Spain won the title, beating Denmark in the final 35–19. It was Denmark's second final in a row.
