Michaela Polleres
Michaela Polleres (born 15 July 1997) is an Austrian judoka. In 2021, she won the silver medal in the women's 70kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. She won bronze at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. Polleres is also a bronze medalist at the 2021 and 2023 World Championships and the 2018 European Championships. She is a third degree black belt. Career Polleres won one of the bronze medals in the girls' 63kg event at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics held in Nanjing, China. She also competed in the mixed team event. Polleres competed in the women's 70kg event at the 2017 European Judo Championships held in Warsaw, Poland. She was eliminated in her second match by Sanne van Dijke of the Netherlands. In that same year, Polleres won the silver medal in the women's 70kg event at the 2017 European U23 Judo Championships held in Podgorica, Montenegro. Judo Grand Slam
The Judo Grand Slam tournaments are international judo tournaments held by the International Judo Federation as part of the IJF World Tour. After the Olympic Games, World Championships and World Masters, the Grand Slam tournaments are the highest-ranking worldwide judo tournaments, i.e. the tournaments in which the judoka can acquire the most ranking points. While some sources states that the first Grand Slam tournament was held in Tokyo in December 2008, the IJF titled it as "Kano Cup", not "Grand Slam". Judo World Masters
The Judo World Masters is an annual invite-only judo competition. After being open for only the top 16 ranked judoka in each weight class for its first eight installments, the tournament was expended to host the top 36 of each weight class in 2019. The world masters is the only world tour event with no limitation on the number of judoka competing from any single national association.
