Me to You Bears (also known as Tatty Teddies) is the brand name of a collection of teddy bears made by greeting cards company Carte Blanche Greetings Ltd. They are often sold in Clinton Cards stores. They were first created in 1987 and appeared in their current guise in 1995. A number of products are available related to Tatty Teddy, including plush toys, figurines, greeting cards, mugs, clothing and wedding accessories. Origin The beginnings of Me to You started in 1987 when Carte Blanche Greetings chairman and founder, Stephen Haines, approached Mike Payne to create a group of 'cute' characters to appear on a series of greeting cards. This led to the creation of various cartoon animals called the Miranda gang, which notably included a brown bear with patches. Michael Payne (executive)
Michael Robert Payne (born 25 March 1958) is an English and Irish marketing executive and author, for many years head of the marketing division of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and from 2004 through 2016 with Formula One Group. He is the author of the 2005 book ''Olympic Turnaround'' and the 2021 book ''Toon In!'', and contributes widely to the media on sports business issues. Biography Payne was educated at Highgate School. A British free-style skiing champion in 1970s, he began marketing his fellow athletes, helping them find sponsors to permit them to compete. Payne was drafted into the IOC in the 1989, having previously worked at ISL Marketing, a Swiss based marketing company that in 1982 had been appointed by the IOC to develop a global marketing program. Michael "Clip" Payne (born William Michael Payne on September 25, 1958 in Detroit, Michigan) is an American musician. He has been a member of Parliament , Funkadelic, The P-Funk Allstars and the Parliament-Funkadelic collective since 1977. Career First credited on Parliament's 1979 release "Gloryhallastoopid" with "Choir Chours", he has appeared on over 20 Parliament-Funkadelic collective recordings primarily as a vocalist and keyboardist. Payne, who is sometimes called "The Man in the Box", typically acts as an on-stage commentator during Parliament-Funkadelic's live performances. Payne's first professional work was the recording of Edwin Starr's "Twenty-Five Miles" with producer Norman Whitfield. Michael Christopher Payne is a British theoretical physicist, working in the field of computational physics and theoretical condensed matter physics at the University of Cambridge. He is the creator of first principles total energy pseudopotential code CASTEP and has been involved in the development of the linear scaling code ONETEP. He was the 23rd most highly cited physical scientist in the UK between 1990 and 1999, and has published more than 250 papers which have had over 22,000 citations. He studied at Pembroke College, Cambridge as an undergraduate and PhD student. Michael Gustavius Payne (born 1969) is a Welsh figurative painter. He paints primarily in oils and is influenced by mythological themes within a contemporary context. During his early exhibiting career he was known as Michael Payne, before he began using his full name. Since late 2012 he has dropped his first name and now uses the shorter Gustavius Payne.
