Michael Page (fighter)
Michael Jerome Reece-Pagewkaassociation.com, Retrieved 28 August 2017. (born 7 April 1987), known as Michael "Venom" Page or MVP, is an English professional mixed martial artist. He currently competes in the Welterweight and Middleweight divisions of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). As of 12 November 2024, he is #15 in the UFC welterweight rankings. Page is recognised in the MMA community for his unorthodox fighting style, which originated from freestyle kickboxing (points fighting) and sport karate. He has also competed professionally as a kickboxer, boxer and bare-knuckle boxer. Early life Page was born in St Mary's Hospital, London to Curtis Page Sr. and Pauline Reece, who were both Lau Gar kung fu practitioners. His father, a British Telecom employee, hailed from Trinidad while his mother, a nurse, was from Jamaica. Bare-knuckle Boxing
Bare-knuckle boxing (also known as bare-knuckle or bare-knuckle fighting) is a full-contact combat sport based on punching without any form of padding on the hands. The sport as it is known today originated in 17th-century England and, although similar, it differs from street fighting as it follows an accepted set of rules. The rules that provided the foundation for bare-knuckle boxing for much of the 18th and 19th centuries were the London Prize Ring Rules. By the late 19th century, professional boxing moved from bare-knuckle to using boxing gloves. The last major world heavyweight championship held under bare-knuckle boxing rules happened in 1889 and was held by John L. Sullivan. Queen's Park, London
Queen's Park is an area and partial civil parish in North London, North West and West London, West London, located mostly in the London Borough of Brent, and partially in the London Borough of the City of Westminster. Some of the area within Westminster forms a civil parish, the first to be created in London since the right of communities to establish civil parishes was enacted in 2007. The area is located north-west of Charing Cross, and centred around a park, which opened in 1887 and was named in honour of Queen Victoria. The W (Western and Paddington) postcode area, also known as the London W postcode area is a group of postcode districts covering part of central and part of West London, England. The area originates from the Western (W1) and Paddington (W2-14) districts of the London postal district. This area covers 35 postcode districts and around 18,554 live postcodes. The area that it covers is high-density and so has been subdivided into a number of smaller postcode districts. Lisson Grove is a street and district in the City of Westminster in the West End of London, West End. Edgware Road
Edgware Road is a major road in London, England. The route originated as part of Roman Watling Street and, unusually in London, it runs for in an almost perfectly straight line. Forming part of the modern A5 road, Edgware Road undergoes several name changes along its length, including Maida Vale, Kilburn High Road, Shoot Up Hill and Cricklewood Broadway; but the road is, as a whole, known as Edgware Road, as it is the road leading to Edgware. The NW (North Western) postcode area, also known as the London NW postcode area, is a group of 13 postcode districts covering around 13,895 live postcodes within part of northwest London, England. It is the successor of the NW sector, originally created as part of the London postal district in 1856. Ashley McKenzie (born 17 July 1989) is a judoka competing at the men's 60 kg division. Born in England, he represents Jamaica internationally and has competed for Great Britain in the past.
