Michael Kelly (footballer, Born 1996)
Michael Sean Kelly (born 13 July 1996) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Accrington Stanley. Career A native of Confey in Leixlip, Kelly began playing with local side Confey FC, before continuing his youth football with Cherry Orchard and Dunboyne. He then played senior football in the League of Ireland for Shamrock Rovers II, Shamrock Rovers, Cabinteely, Longford Town, Bohemians and Bray Wanderers, before signing for English club Carlisle United on 30 July 2022. On 30 May 2023, it was announced that Kelly had been released by the club following their promotion, without making a league appearance during the season. After over three months without a club, on 9 September 2023 Kelly joined League Two club Milton Keynes Dons on a short-term deal following injury to Dons goalkeeper Nathan Harness. Leixlip
Leixlip ( or ; , ) is a town in north-east County Kildare, Ireland. Its location on the confluence of the River Liffey and the Rye Water has marked it as a frontier town historically: on the border between the ancient kingdoms of Leinster and Brega, as an outpost of The Pale, and on Kildare's border with County Dublin. Leixlip was also a civil parish in the ancient barony of Salt North. As of 2022, the population of the town was 16,773. It is the fifth largest town in Kildare, and the 30th largest in Ireland. The Football Association of Ireland Senior Challenge Cup (FAI Cup), known as the Sports Direct FAI Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a knock-out association football competition contested annually by teams from the Republic of Ireland (as well as Derry City F.C., Derry City from Northern Ireland).
