Metron (character)
Metron is a fictional antihero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. A member of the New Gods, he is an amoral and neutral collector of knowledge. He is commonly seen in the Mobius Chair, which can travel across time and space. Metron has been adapted into various works featuring the New Gods. He is voiced by Daniel Dae Kim in ''Justice League Unlimited'' and Phil LaMarr in ''Young Justice (TV series), Young Justice''. Publication history Metron first appeared in ''New Gods'' #1 (February–March 1971) and was created by Jack Kirby for his ''Fourth World (comics), Fourth World'' series. Jack Kirby
Jack Kirby (; born Jacob Kurtzberg; August 28, 1917 – February 6, 1994) was an American comics artist, comic book artist, widely regarded as one of the medium's major innovators and one of its most prolific and influential creators. He grew up in New York City and learned to draw cartoon figures by tracing characters from comic strips and editorial cartoons. He entered the nascent comics industry in the 1930s, drawing various comics features under different pen names, including Jack Curtiss, before settling on Jack Kirby. In 1940, he and writer-editor Joe Simon created the highly successful superhero character Captain America for Timely Comics, predecessor of Marvel Comics. During the 1940s, Kirby regularly teamed with Simon, creating numerous characters for that company and for National Comics Publications, later to become DC Comics. The Source is a metaphysical concept created by writer-artist Jack Kirby for his Fourth World series of comic books. It first appeared in ''New Gods'' #1 (February 1971). History The Source is a cosmic force and the source of everything that exists. It is protected by the Source Wall, a barrier containing statues of those who fail to pass it. In ''Death of the New Gods'', the Source orchestrates the eponymous event to build a new "Fifth World" and merges Apokolips and New Genesis into a single planet. Death Of The New Gods
''Death of the New Gods'' is an eight-issue comic book limited series published in 2007 and 2008 by DC Comics. It was written and pencilled by Jim Starlin. The series follows the final days of the New Gods as they are stalked by a mysterious killer. The events of the series set the foundation for the 2008 storyline ''Final Crisis''. Background ''Death of the New Gods'' was conceived by DC as a series that would lead- and tie-in to ''Final Crisis'', much like ''Countdown to Final Crisis''. Jim Starlin said in an interview that "I sort of think of this project as putting an ending to Jack's New Gods saga. Mister Miracle is the name of three fictional superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The first and third are humans Thaddeus Brown and Shilo Norman, while the second is New God Scott Free. ''Cosmic Egg'' is the second studio album by Australian rock band Wolfmother, released on 23 October 2009. It is the first album by the second lineup of the band, featuring vocalist, songwriter and lead guitarist Andrew Stockdale, bassist and keyboardist Ian Peres, rhythm guitarist Aidan Nemeth and drummer Dave Atkins, formed in 2009 after original members Chris Ross and Myles Heskett left in August 2008. The Justice League, or Justice League of America (JLA), is a group of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Mother Boxes are fictional devices in Jack Kirby's Fourth World setting in the DC Universe. The Mother Boxes appeared in the feature films ''Justice League'' and ''Zack Snyder's Justice League'' of the DC Extended Universe. History Created by Apokoliptian scientist Himon using the mysterious Element X, they are generally thought to be sentient, miniaturized, portable supercomputers, although their true nature and origins are unknown. They possess various powers, including teleportation via Boom Tubes, energy manipulation, and healing. Despite their name, Mother Boxes are not always box-shaped.
