MetroBus (Bristol)
MetroBus (stylised as metrobus) is a Bus Rapid Transit, metrobus system in Bristol, England, created as a joint project between Bristol City Council, Bristol, North Somerset Council, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Council, South Gloucestershire councils. The first route, service m3, began operations on 29 May 2018, followed by m2 on 3 September 2018, m1 on 6 January 2019 and m4 on 22 January 2023. Overview MetroBus is part of a package of transport infrastructure improvements in the West of England which have been designed to help unlock economic growth, tackle poor public transport links in South Bristol, long bus journey times and high car use in the North Fringe of Bristol, North Fringe of the city and M32 motorway corridor. Mayor Of Bristol
The Mayor of Bristol was the political leader of Bristol City Council. The mayor was a directly elected politician who, along with the 70 members of Bristol City Council, was responsible for the strategic government of the city of Bristol, England. The role was created after a local referendum held on 3 May 2012, which followed the passage of the Localism Act 2011. 41,032 voted for an elected mayor and 35,880 voted against, with a turnout of 24%. Hengrove
Hengrove is a suburb and council ward of Bristol, England, situated between Whitchurch, Knowle and Bishopsworth, running along both dual carriageways, Wells Road ( A37) and Airport Road ( A4174). The area of Knowle it adjoins is known as Knowle West. The residential parts of Hengrove consist mainly of working to middle class terrace houses. There are also infant, primary and secondary schools in the area. It is served by buses and, since 2019, MetroBus rapid transit services. Bristol Temple Meads is the oldest and largest railway station in Bristol, England. It is located away from London Paddington. Ashton Vale is a suburb of Bristol, England, on the south-western edge of the city. The area has a mixture of residential and light industry. Bristol Parkway, on the South Wales Main Line, serves the villages of Stoke Gifford and Harry Stoke in South Gloucestershire, England. Despite its name, it is located in Gloucestershire rather than Bristol itself, and is the busiest station in the county. It is from London Paddington. The station was opened in 1972 by British Rail and rebuilt in 2001. It is the third-most heavily used station in the West of England combined authority area, after Bristol Temple Meads and . Emersons Green is a suburban neighbourhood and civil parish in South Gloucestershire, England. It is part of the Bristol Built-up Area, northeast of Bristol city centre. The neighbourhood was developed in the 1990s and early 21st century on farmland formerly in the parish of Mangotsfield. Coal was mined in the area in the 19th century.
