Mete Gazoz
Mete Gazoz (born 8 June 1999 in Istanbul) is a Turkish recurve archer. He won the gold medal in the men's individual event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. He also represented Turkey at the 2016 Summer Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In the 2023 World Archery Championships held in Berlin, Mete Gazoz emerged victorious, claiming the prestigious Individual title. In an intense final, he triumphed over the skilled Canadian archer Eric Peters, securing his place as the first Turkish archer to achieve the esteemed recurve gold medal in a World Championship. Victor Joseph Mete (born June 7, 1998) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently an unrestricted free agent. He most recently played for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected in the fourth round, 100th overall, by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2016 NHL entry draft. Mete has also previously played for the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs. Caterina Mete (born 10 September 1980) is an Australian dancer, singer, choreographer and children's entertainer who is a member of the children's band the Wiggles. Halil Mete Soner is a Turkish American mathematician born in Ankara and is the Normal John Sollenberger Professor at Princeton University. Mete Özgencil (born 1962) is a Turkish songwriter, composer, music video director, singer, screenwriter and painter. Mete Kīngi Te Rangi Paetahi (c. 1813 – 22 September 1883) was a Member of Parliament in New Zealand. He was one of four Māori elected in the first Māori elections of 1868 for the new Māori electorates in the House of Representatives.
