Marília Dias Mendonça (; 22 July 1995 – 5 November 2021) was a Brazilian singer, songwriter and instrumentalist, posthumously recognized in Brazil as the ''Queen of Sofrência'', a subgenre of sertanejo music, and has been recognized for her contribution to female empowerment by revolutionizing the universe of sertanejo music. Cristóvão De Mendonça
Cristóvão de Mendonça ( Mourão, 1475 – Ormus, 1532) was a Portuguese noble and explorer who was active in South East Asia in the 16th century. Mendonça in João de Barros's Décadas da Ásia Mendonça is known from a small number of Portuguese sources, notably João de Barros. Barros was one of the first great Portuguese historians, most famous for his work ''Décadas da Ásia'' (Decades of Asia), a history of the Portuguese Empire in India and Asia, published between 1552–1615. Barros mentions that Cristóvão de Mendonça was the son of a Pedro de Mendonça of Mourão, but his date of birth is not given. Mendonça later governed Hormuz (Ormus) as Captain-Major from 1527. He died there in 1532. Ana de Mendonça (c. 1460-1542) was a maid of a claimant of Castile, Joanna la Beltraneja, and a mistress of King John II of Portugal John II (; ; 3 May 1455 – 25 October 1495), called the Perfect Prince (), was King of Portugal from 1481 until his death in 1495, and also for a brief time in 1477. Stella Mendonça (born 10 August 1970) is a Mozambican operatic soprano specializing in the bel canto repertoire. In 2002 Mendonça collaborated in adapting Georges Bizet's opera Carmen for African audiences and then performed it in Mozambique. Eduardo Mendonça (born August 21, 1960 in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil) is a guitarist, percussionist, singer, composer, and director of "Show Brazil!". He traces his heritage to a royal African family called "Mama Beka", meaning "Prophet of the Royal Court".
