Cairo Stadium Indoor Halls Complex
Cairo Stadium Indoor Halls Complex (), built in 1991, consists of four multi-use indoor arenas, indoor sporting arenas located near the Cairo International Stadium in Cairo, Egypt. The seating capacity of The Main Hall (also known as The Covered Hall), which is primarily used for sports, is 16,900 spectators. Construction The complex was completed in September 1991. In 2016, the halls were equipped with an LED lighting system. Events The Main Hall is used for events like badminton, basketball, handball, volleyball, international conferences, parties, and trade fairs. It was built in time for the 1991 All-Africa Games. It hosted the first FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup on African soil. It is one of the 2020 BAL season venues. Eli Dershwitz ( ; born September 23, 1995) is an American left-handed saber fencer, five-time individual Pan American champion, three-time Olympian, and the 2023 saber World Champion. In 2014, Dershwitz won the US Men's Saber National Championship, becoming the youngest US senior men's saber championship holder. Dershwitz then won the 2015 Junior World Fencing Championships in saber, becoming the inaugural U.S. men's saber fencer to win a world title. He is a five-time Pan-American Championship title holder, and the 2015 Pan American Games champion in saber. Dershwitz competed in fencing at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He returned to Harvard University as a sophomore, winning individual saber in the 2017 NCAA Fencing Championship and as a junior in the 2018 NCAA Fencing Championship. Gordon has represented the country on the international stage since 2013 and has competed at two Olympic Games, three Pan American Games and eight World Fencing Championships. Early and personal life Gordon was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, to Monica and Eliahu Gordon, and is Jewish. He then moved to Italy and finally to Richmond, British Columbia, Canada as a child. Career Curatoli is the half-brother of 1995 sabre world champion Raffaello Caserta and of Leonardo Caserta, who coaches him at Circolo Posillipo.
