This is a list of members of the South Australian Legislative Council between 2014 and 2018, spanning the 52nd (started 2010) and 53rd (starting 2014) Parliaments of South Australia. As half of the Legislative Council's terms expired at each state election, half of these members were elected at the 2010 state election with terms expiring in 2018, while the other half were elected at the 2014 state election with terms expiring in 2022. : Independent MLC Bernard Finnigan, who had been elected as Labor in 2010 and became an independent in 2011, resigned on 12 November 2015. Labor's Peter Malinauskas replaced him on 1 December. : Labor MLC Gerry Kandelaars resigned on 17 February 2017. John Gazzola
John Mario Gazzola (; born 1957) is a former Australian politician who was a member of the South Australian Legislative Council for the Labor Party from 2002 to 2018. He was President of the Council from 2012 to 2014. From 2003 to 2012, Gazzola was a member of the South Australian Parliament's Aboriginal Lands Parliamentary Standing Committee. David Ridgway (politician)
David Wickham Ridgway (born 14 November 1960) is a South Australian politician who served as a member of the South Australian Legislative Council from 2002 to 2021, representing the Liberal Party of Australia (SA). Ridgway served as the Minister for Trade and Investment in the Marshall Ministry from 22 March 2018 to 26 July 2020, and as Minister for Tourism from March 2018 to January 2020. Background Ridgway was elected state president of the South Australian Rural Youth Movement in 1982–83. In 1984 he won a six-month youth study tour to the UK. This experience heightened his interest in politics, especially in primary industries and regional development. Mark Parnell
Mark Charles Parnell (born 9 September 1959) is an Australian former politician and parliamentary leader of the SA Greens in the South Australian Legislative Council. He was the first SA Greens representative to be elected to the Parliament of South Australia, at the 2006 election. He was re-elected for another eight-year term in the Legislative Council at the 2014 election. Parnell announced he would retire at the 2022 state election, but resigned from the parliament early to give his successor ( Robert Simms) an "opportunity to make his mark in Parliament ahead of the election". Tung Ngo
Tung The Ngo (, ; born 1972) is an Australian politician in the South Australian Legislative Council for the South Australian Branch of the Australian Labor Party since the 2014 election. Ngo is linked with the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association (SDA). As a child, Ngo spent a year and a half in a refugee camp in the Philippines Palawan Refugee Camp before arriving in Australia as a ten year old with his older sister in 1982. Andrew McLachlan
Andrew Lockhart McLachlan (born 14 January 1966) is an Australian politician who has been a Senator for South Australia since 6 February 2020, representing the Liberal Party of Australia. He was previously a member of the South Australian Legislative Council, having been elected at the 2014 state election, and was subsequently elected President of the South Australian Legislative Council in May 2018. Peter Bryden Malinauskas (English: ; ; born 14 August 1980) is an Australian politician serving as the 47th and current premier of South Australia since 2022. He has been the leader of the South Australian branch of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) and a member of the House of Assembly (MHA) for the division of Croydon since 2018. Kyam Joseph Maher is an Australian politician and lawyer who has been Attorney-General of South Australia and the Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council since March 2022. He was appointed to a casual vacancy in the South Australian Legislative Council for the South Australian Branch of the Australian Labor Party on 17 October 2012. Jacqueline Michelle Ann Lensink (born 20 February 1970) is an Australian politician representing the South Australian Division of the Liberal Party of Australia in the South Australian Legislative Council since 26 June 2003. Jing Shyuan Lee (born 12 June 1967) is a Malaysian-Australian politician elected to the South Australian Legislative Council for the South Australian Division of the Liberal Party of Australia since the 2010 state election.
