Melbern is a small unincorporated community in western Center Township, Williams County, Ohio, United States. It is situated on County Road 9 south of County Road D. History A post office called Melbern opened in 1866, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1961. First called Kansas, the present name was adopted when the post office was established. Edgerton is a village in Williams County, Ohio, United States in the extreme northwest corner of the state. The population was 1,881 at the 2020 census. History The area around Edgerton was organized as St. Joseph Township on December 2, 1832. Edgerton was platted in 1854. The village was named after Alfred Peck Edgerton, a land agent and U.S. congressman. A post office was established in 1854. The village was incorporated on December 4, 1865.
