Melanie Sykes
Melanie Ann Sykes (born 1970) is an English former television and radio presenter. She is best known for co-hosting '' Today with Des and Mel'' with Des O'Connor and '' Let's Do Lunch'' with Gino D'Acampo. She also co-hosted ''Going Out with Alan Carr'' on BBC Radio 2 with Alan Carr from May 2010 until it ended in March 2012, and returned with him for ''Alan and Mel's Summer Escape'' from 2017 to 2020. Sykes co-presented ''Shop Well for Less'' alongside Joanna Page on BBC One. She ended her career in the entertainment industry in 2021, following a comment from '' Celebrity MasterChef'' judge Gregg Wallace. Early life Sykes was born in 1970 at Ashton-under-Lyne to an English father and an Anglo-Indian mother. Ashton-under-Lyne is a market town in Tameside, Greater Manchester, England. The population was 48,604 at the 2021 census. Mossley Hollins High School
Mossley Hollins High School is a coeducational secondary school located in Mossley, in the borough of Tameside, Greater Manchester. The school's original building was opened in the 1960s. Mossley Hollins ranked eighth in Tameside in the most recent league table of school GCSE performance. The school received a rating of "Good" in an Ofsted report made in 2023. ''The Big Breakfast'' is a British breakfast light entertainment television programme that was broadcast on Channel 4 from 1992 to 2002, and as a revival from 2021 to 2022. The show had various presenters, starting with Chris Evans (presenter), Chris Evans and Gaby Roslin at launch with the revival episodes presented by Mo Gilligan and AJ Odudu. The programme was distinctive for broadcasting live from a real house (which had been lock-keepers' cottages), commonly referred to as "The Big Breakfast House", or more simply, "The House", located on Fish Island, London, Fish Island, in Bow, London, Bow in east London. Sky One
Sky One was a British pay television channel operated and owned by Sky Group (a division of Comcast). Withington
Withington is a suburb of Manchester, England. Historically part of Lancashire, it lies from Manchester city centre, south of Fallowfield, north-east of Didsbury and east of Chorlton-cum-Hardy. Withington had a population at the 2011 census of 13,422. Boddingtons Bitter
Boddingtons Bitter is a straw-golden bitter beer originally produced by Boddington & Co at their Strangeways Brewery in Manchester. It is now owned by AB-InBev and produced at their brewery in Samlesbury, Lancashire. It is notable as one of the first beers to be packaged in cans containing a widget, giving it a creamy draught-style head. In the 1990s, the beer was heavily marketed as The Cream of Manchester in an advertising campaign credited with raising the city's profile. Adverts from 1996 to 1999 featured Melanie Sykes, who returned to the adverts in 2017 to mark 21 years since her first advert.
