Małgorzata Dzieduszycka-Ziemilska
Małgorzata Maria Dzieduszycka-Ziemilska (born 1 June 1949) is a Polish publicist, theatre critic and served as the Consul General in Montreal from 1992 to 1996 and is also a permanent Delegate of the Republic of Poland to UNESCO Dzieduszycka-Ziemils graduated from Polish Studies at the University of Wrocław. Her master's thesis was under the supervision of Professor Czesław Hernas, about Jerzy Grotowski's "''Apocalypsis cum figuris."'' This thesis appeared in print and was the first book about Grotowski published in Poland. Dzieduszycka-Ziemilska wrote in various publications (magazines) ITD, Kultura, Polityka and Dialog Magazine. Eli Rubenstein (born in 1959) is a Holocaust educator, writer, storyteller, filmmaker, and activist. He is currently the religious leader of Congregation Habonim Toronto, a Toronto synagogue founded by Holocaust survivors, served as the Director of Education for March of the Living International since 1988, and currently serves as National Director of March of the Living Canada from 1988 to 2024. Rubenstein was the President of the Israel Guide Dog Centre for the Blind, and was appointed to the Order of Canada in December 2022. Irene Tomaszewski (also Irena Tomaszewska, born May 1940) is a Canadian writer, editor and translator of Polish descent living in Montreal, Canada. Early life Irene Tomaszewski (''Tomaszewska'', in proper Polish usage, since she is female) was born in 1940 to Polish parents in the Soviet Union's Rosochy prison, in the Arkhangelsk Oblast ''gulag''. In June 1941, after Germany attacked its former Soviet ally, the family was released from the ''gulag''. In 1942, along with tens of thousands of other Poles, they were evacuated from the Soviet Union to the Near East. On their way south, Tomaszewski's mother Anna, pregnant with Irena, and her two sisters Wanda and Halina, were separated from the children's father, Felix. In 1949, after six years in an East Africa refugee camp, the family were reunited in England, and subsequently emigrated to Canada.
