Maxim Brewery
Maxim Brewery is a beer brewing company based in Houghton-le-Spring, United Kingdom. It was set up to rescue the famous Double Maxim beer, which had ceased production when the Vaux brewery was closed in 1999. In 2019 Maxim Brewery supported the making of a short film 'A passion for Vaux' celebrating Sunderland large but not forgotten brewery. In 2021, the new beers, Maverick and Medusa, were launched. History The new company, Double Maxim Beer Company, was founded by ex-Vaux directors Doug Trotman, Mark Anderson and ex-Vaux head brewer, Jim Murray, and in 2000 re-launched Double Maxim. Brewing of the beer was initially contracted to Robinson's of Stockport. In 2003, the company bought the brand and recipes of a former Vaux subsidiary, Wards, and relaunched Wards Best Bitter, again to be brewed and bottled by Robinson's. Maksim, Serbian Patriarch
Maksim I ''Skopljanac'' ( sr-cyrl, Максим I Скопљанац) (died 29 October 1680) was a Archbishop of Peć and Serbian Patriarch between 1655 and 1674. He lived in the Patriarchal Monastery of Peć In 1674, he resigned due to advanced age, and died in 1680. Metropolitan of Raška Maksim was born in Skopje, thus his nickname. He was serving as the Metropolitan of Raška when his forerunner, Gavrilo I, escaped to Russia fearing Ottoman reprisals for the contacts he held with Sultan's Catholic enemies. Soon Gavrilo I announced that he does not intend to return and that a new patriarch should be chosen. It is, however, not sure if this was his or the initiative of the High Porte. Maksim, Bulgarian Patriarch
Patriarch Maxim (Maximus) () (born Marin Naydenov Minkov, October 29, 1914 – November 6, 2012) was the head of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church from 1971 until his death. He was born in Oreshak, Lovech Province, Oreshak, the second of the two children of Nayden Minkov Rachev and Pena Bordzhukova, but very little is known about his parents' background. He was educated only in his native mountain village of Oreshak but from his late childhood, he became a novice monk in the Troyan Monastery and then studied Orthodox Theology at Sofia University, from which he graduated in 1935 with honours. In 1942 he graduated from the Saint Clement of Ohrid State University of Sofia. He took Holy Orders in 1941 and became secretary general of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, Holy Synod in 1955 and titular bishop of ''Branit'' on December 30, 1956. Carl Johann Maximovich, also Karl Ivanovich Maximovich (Russian language, Russian: Карл Иванович Максимович; 23 November 1827 – 16 February 1891) was a Russian botanist. Maximovich spent most of his life studying the flora of the countries he had visited in the Far East, and naming many new species. He worked at the Saint Petersburg Botanical Gardens from 1852 as curator of the herbarium collection, becoming Director in 1869. Keith Andrew Palmer (born 21 March 1967), better known by his stage name Maxim (previously Maxim Reality), is a British musician, known for being a vocalist of electronic music band The Prodigy. Pre-Prodigy history Keith Andrew Palmer was born in Peterborough to Jamaican parents. He enjoyed writing poetry and verse and began MCing around the age of 14. He gained inspiration from his ten-years-older MC brother, Hitman, who introduced him into the Peterborough Reggae Soundsystem Scene. At the age of seventeen he had his first gig in Basingstoke. Ian Sherman, a fellow musician from Nottingham teamed up with Maxim and they formed 'Maxim and Sheik YanGroove'. After recording some tracks together without attracting much attention, Maxim left and went on a three-month travel throughout Europe and North Africa.
