Maxim Burov
Maxim Alekseyevich Burov (; born 5 June 1998) is a Russian freestyle skier. A three-time World Champion, he won back-to-back titles in individual aerials, in 2019 and 2021, becoming the first Russian and the fourth male aerial skier to do that. He participated at two Winter Olympics and competed in the men's aerials by representing Olympic Athletes from Russia in 2018 and Russian Olympic Committee in 2022. His elder brother, Ilya Burov, is a fellow freestyle aerials skier and has competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics, 2018 Winter Olympics and in the 2022 Winter Olympics. The brothers competed at the men's aerials freestyle skiing event in the 2018 Winter Olympics, with Ilya winning a bronze medal in the event while Maxim Burov finished in 15th position. The men's aerials competition in freestyle skiing at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on 15 February (qualification) and 16 February (final), at the Genting Snow Park in Zhangjiakou. Qi Guangpu of China won the event; this was his first Olympic gold medal. Oleksandr Abramenko of Ukraine, the defending champion, won the second medal, and Ilya Burov, representing the Russian Olympic Committee, won bronze, replicating his 2018 achievement. The 2018 silver medalist Jia Zongyang was competing as well. At the 2021–22 FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup, there were six events before the Olympics, and only Russians, Chinese, and Swiss made it to the top three at any of them. Shimao () is a Neolithic site in Shenmu County, Shaanxi, China. The site is located in the northern part of the Loess Plateau, on the southern edge of the Ordos Desert. It is dated to around 2000 BC, near the end of the Longshan period, and is the largest known walled site of that period in China, at 400 ha. The fortifications of Shimao were originally believed to be a section of the Great Wall of China, but the discovery of jade pieces prompted an archaeological investigation, which revealed that the site was of Neolithic age. Deer Valley is a ski-only resort in the Wasatch Range, located east of Salt Lake City, in Park City, Utah, United States where snowboarding is prohibited. Deer Valley was one of the venues for the 2002 Winter Olympics, hosting the freestyle moguls, aerial, and alpine slalom events. It is expected to host the mogul event for the 2034 Winter Olympics but lost out on hosting the slalom event.
