Maxey, Cambridgeshire
Maxey is a village in the Peterborough unitary authority, in the ceremonial county of Cambridgeshire, England, located between Peterborough and Stamford and southwest of The Deepings. It is home to nearly 700 residents. The main focal points are the one remaining public house (Blue Bell), the Church (St Peter's) and the village hall. Each provides a range of social functions throughout the year. There are a surprising number of businesses based in the village, including a few working farms. History Once part of the Soke of Peterborough in Northamptonshire, Maxey can trace its 'modern' roots back over 1,000 years. However, archaeological excavation of the area has provided ample evidence of continuous occupation for over 4,000 years. The Neolithic or New Stone Age (from Ancient Greek, Greek 'new' and 'stone') is an archaeological period, the final division of the Stone Age in Mesopotamia, Asia, Europe and Africa (c. 10,000 BCE to c. 2,000 BCE). Glen Maxey (born February 23, 1952) is an American politician from Austin, Texas, who was the first openly gay member of the Texas Legislature. Active in the fight for gay rights, Maxey was a central figure in the establishment of facilities for the education and care of HIV-infected individuals, especially the AIDS Services of Austin (ASA). Tom Bloodworth
Thomas Bloodworth (10 February 1882 – 11 May 1974) was a New Zealand politician. He was a Member of the Legislative Council and its last Chairman of Committees. Political career Born in Maxey, Northamptonshire in 1882, Bloodworth was a member of the British Independent Labour Party and came to New Zealand in 1907. He joined the Auckland Socialist Party in 1910 and was Secretary of the Auckland Carpenters' Union (1914–1936). Maxey Castle
Maxey Castle was a medieval fortified manor house castle in Maxey, Cambridgeshire, England. Details Maxey Castle was built around the 1370s by William Thorpe near the village of Maxey.Maxey Castle', Gatehouse website, accessed 21 May 2011. George Ross Robinson (born 12 September 1997) is a British actor. He is known for his role as Isaac Goodwin in the Netflix series ''Sex Education''.
