Max Hattler
Max Hattler is a German video artist and experimental filmmaker. He created the kaleidoscopic political short films "Collision" (2005) and "Spin" (2010), abstract stop motion works "Shift" (2012) and "AANAATT" (2008), and psychedelic animation loops "Sync", "1923 aka Heaven" and "1925 aka Hell" (2010). Biography Max Hattler was born in Ulm, Germany. He is the son of Hellmut Hattler, a German bass player mainly known for his Krautrock band Kraan. Max Hattler holds a BA from Goldsmiths (2001), a Master of Arts in Animation from the Royal College of Art (2005) and a doctorate in fine art from the University of East London (2014). Stop-motion (also known as stop frame animation) is an animated filmmaking and special effects technique in which objects are physically manipulated in small increments between individually photographed frames so that they will appear to exhibit independent motion or change when the series of frames is played back. Any kind of object can thus be animated, but puppets with movable joints (puppet animation) or clay figures (claymation) are most commonly used. Gasworks is a contemporary art organisation based near The Oval cricket ground in Kennington, South East London, which comprises a gallery and 13 artist studios as well offering residencies, international fellowships and educational projects. Artist residency The gallery is part of The Triangle Network, an international network or residencies and workshops offering artists the opportunity develop their practice stimulated by a climate of international exchange and dialogue. Lumen Eclipse
Lumen Eclipse is a public media arts gallery located in Harvard Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts, founded to expand public awareness of local, national, and international artists. The gallery is situated on two mounted displays on the Tourism Information Kiosk, just outside the Harvard Square MBTA stop, screening motion art daily. The gallery may also be viewed on the Lumen Eclipse website. History Lumen Eclipse presents contemporary motion art in public spaces, using outdoor video displays, social venues, and the web. Erarta is the largest private museum of contemporary art in Russia, located in Saint Petersburg. The museum is combined with the Erarta Galleries. The name of Erarta Museum is derived from uniting two words, "Era" and "Arta", whose combination can be translated from Russian as "the era of art".
