Mawaali
''Mawaali'' () is a 1983 Indian Hindi-language masala film, produced by G. Hanumantha Rao by Padmalaya Studios banner, presented by Krishna and directed by K. Bapaiah. The film stars Jeetendra, Sridevi, Jaya Prada and has music composed by Bappi Lahiri. The film is a remake of Telugu film '' Chuttalunnaru Jagratha'' (1980) which also starred Sridevi, but in a different role. Plot Goyal Verma is a wealthy industrialist who is surrounded by vicious relatives Ajith, his wife Laila, and their son Ranjith. To usurp his wealth, they want to knit Ranjith with Nisha the only daughter of Goyal. Due to his ill-health Goyal entrusts the factory responsibilities to Ajith which he misuses by conducting fraud and extortion. Ramesh a newly appointed engineer bars their violations. He falls for Nisha which Goyal also accepts. However, spotting Ramesh with another girl named Julie, Goyal expels and mortifies him. Padmalaya Studios is an Indian film production company and studio facility established by actor Krishna and his brothers. Based in Hyderabad, it primarily focuses on the production and distribution of Telugu and Hindi films. The studio's operations are now managed through its successors, including Indira Productions, G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment, and Krishna Productions. The production company, initially known as Padmalaya Movies, was founded in 1970 with its first film ''Agni Pariksha''. In 1982, the Andhra Pradesh state government allocated 9.5 acres of land to Krishna to promote the development of the film industry in Hyderabad. ''Chuttalunnaru Jagratha'' () is a 1980 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film directed by B. V. Prasad. The film stars Krishna and Sridevi. Iftekhar Ahmed Sharif (22 February 1920 – 4 March 1995), often mononymously credited as Iftekhar or Iftikhar, was an Indian actor who mainly worked in Hindi cinema. He is known for his film roles as a police officer. Career Iftekhar was born in Jalandhar and was the eldest among four brothers and a sister. Jaya Prada Nahata (born Lalitha Rani Rao; 3 April 1962) is an Indian actress and politician known for her works majorly in Telugu cinema and Hindi cinema as well as in Tamil films in late '70s, '80s and early '90s. Bappi Aparesh Lahiri (born Alokesh Aparesh Lahiri; 27 November 1952 – 15 February 2022), also known as Bappi Da, was an Indian singer, composer and record producer. He popularised the use of synthesised disco music in Indian music industry and sang some of his own compositions. He was popular in the 1980s and 1990s with filmi soundtracks.
