Mauricio Fúnez
José Mauricio Fúnez Barrientos (born 10 March 1959), nicknamed ''El Güicho'', is a retired Honduran football midfielder. Club career The moustached Fúnez played most of his career for Real España, whom he also skippered, in the Honduran Liga Nacional. He also played for Independiente Villela and C.D. Olimpia. International career Fúnez arrived late at the internationals scene, since he only made his debut for Honduras in a May 1991 UNCAF Nations Cup match against Panama and has earned a total of 28 caps, scoring no goals. The 1990–91 Honduran Liga Nacional season was the 25th edition of the Honduran Liga Nacional. The format of the tournament consisted of a three round-robins followed by a 5-team playoff round. Club Deportivo Olimpia unsuccessfully defended its 1989 title losing in a replay match to Motagua. Real C.D. España won the title defeating in the final C.D. Motagua. The Copa Centroamericana () was an association football competition organized by UNCAF as its top regional tournament for men's senior national teams from Central America. The tournament was held from 1991 to 2017, every two years in the years before and after the FIFA World Cup and also served as a qualification method for the CONCACAF Gold Cup. It was originally known as Copa de Naciones UNCAF () from 1991 to 2009, changing to the latter name in the 2011 edition. The tournament consisted of two stages, in the group stage of the tournament finals, the seven teams competed in two groups with a round-robin format, one group with four teams and the other with three teams, with the top two teams in each group qualified for the semifinal, where the winners advanced into the final while the losers disputed a third place match.
