Mattias Sjögren
Mattias Sjögren (born November 27, 1987) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey Centre (ice hockey), centre who last played for Rögle BK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Playing career Undrafted, Sjögren played youth hockey in Sweden within Rögle BK. He made his professional debut in the HockeyAllsvenskan with Rögle BK, helping gain promotion to the Swedish Hockey League, Elitserien. He transferred to fellow top division club, Färjestad BK, for the 2010-11 Elitserien season, 2010–11 season and won the Swedish championship with the club that year. On June 1, 2011, Sjögren as a free agent to a two-year contract, reportedly worth 1.8 million dollars, with the Washington Capitals. Landskrona
Landskrona is a town in Scania, Sweden. Located on the shores of the Öresund, it occupies a natural port, which has lent the town at first military and subsequent commercial significance. The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL; ) is an international professional ice hockey league founded in 2008. Assist (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the Puck (sports)#In ice hockey, puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the Goal (ice hockey), goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. There can be a maximum of two assists per goal. The assists will be awarded in the order of play, with the last player to pass the puck to the goal scorer getting the primary assist and the player who passed it to the primary assister getting the secondary assist. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. 2014 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships
The 2014 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships was the 78th such event organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Teams participated at six levels of competition. The competition also served as qualifications for division placements in the 2015 competition. 2014 IIHF World Championship
The 2014 IIHF World Championship was hosted by Belarus in its capital, Minsk, held from 9 to 25 May 2014. Sixteen national teams were competing in two venues, the Minsk-Arena and Chizhovka-Arena. It was the first time Belarus hosted the tournament. The selection of Belarus to host this competition was the subject of much debate, with some politicians in the European Union and North America calling for the International Ice Hockey Federation, IIHF to move the tournament to another country. 2011 IIHF World Championship
The 2011 IIHF World Championship was the 75th IIHF World Championship, an annual international men's ice hockey tournament. It took place between 29 April and 15 May 2011 in Slovakia. The games were played in the Ondrej Nepela Arena, Orange Arena in Bratislava, and the Steel Aréna in Košice. The Czech Republic men's national ice hockey team, Czech team was the defending champion. This was the first time the independent Slovakia hosted the World Championships. However, this was the third time that Bratislava co-hosted the World Championships. The Ice Hockey World Championships are an annual international men's ice hockey tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), first officially held at the 1920 Summer Olympics.
