Matthias Trübner
Matthias Trübner is an East German bobsledder who competed in the mid-1980s. He won a gold medal in the four-man event at the 1985 FIBT World Championships in Cervinia. Trübner became a bobsleigh coach in his home state of Thuringia in East Germany (now Germany) after he retired from the sport. One of his star pupils was André Lange. He has also coached bobsleigh driver Maximilian Arndt Maximilian Arndt (born 23 July 1987) is a former German bobsledder who has competed since 2003. Bernhard Lehmann
Bernhard Lehmann (born 11 January 1948 in Großräschen, Brandenburg) is an East German bobsledder who competed from the late 1970s to the late 1980s. Competing in three Winter Olympics, he won four medals with one gold (Four-man: 1976), two silvers (Two-man and four-man: both 1984), and one bronze (Two-man: 1988). Bobsleigh
Bobsleigh or bobsled is a winter sport in which teams of 2 to 4 athletes make timed speed runs down narrow, twisting, banked, iced tracks in a gravity-powered sleigh. International bobsleigh competitions are governed by the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (formerly the FIBT). The first bobsleds were built in the late 19th century in St. Moritz, Switzerland, by wealthy tourists from Victorian Britain who were staying at the Badrutt's Palace Hotel, Palace Hotel owned by Caspar Badrutt. FIBT World Championships
The IBSF World Championships (known as the FIBT World Championships until 2015), part of the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation, have taken place on an annual basis since FIBT World Championships 1930, 1930. Starting with 2002, no World Championships being held in non-Winter Olympics, Winter Olympic years. A two-man event was included in FIBT World Championships 1931, 1931 with a combined championship occurring in FIBT World Championships 1947, 1947. The FIBT World Championships 1985 took place in Cervinia, Italy for the third time, having hosted the event previously in 1971 and 1975. André Lange
André Lange (; born 28 June 1973) is a retired German bobsledder and one of the most successful bob pilots of all time. Competing at the 2002, 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics, he has won four gold and one silver medals. Lange originally started his sledding career as a luger, taking up bobsleigh in 1993. At the 2002 Winter Olympics, Lange won the four-man event with teammates Carsten Embach, Enrico Kühn and Kevin Kuske. At the 2006 Winter Olympics, Lange also won gold in the four-man event with teammates Kevin Kuske, René Hoppe and Martin Putze, in addition to winning the two-man event with Kuske.
