Matthias Schömann-Finck
Matthias Schömann-Finck (born 5 March 1979, in Bernkastel-Kues) is a former German lightweight rower. In 2009 Schomann-Finck was part of the team of four that won the World Championship in the lightweight coxless four. The team included his brother, Jost Jost is both a German given name and a surname and a Jewish (Ashkenazi) surname. Rowing (sport)
Rowing, often called crew American English, in the United States, is the sport of racing boats using Oar (sport rowing), oars. It differs from paddling sports in that rowing oars (called blades in the United Kingdom) are attached to the boat using Rowlock, rowlocks, while paddles are not connected to the boat. Rowing is divided into two disciplines: sculling and sweep rowing. In sculling, each rower (or oarsman) holds two oars, one in each hand, while in sweep rowing each rower holds one oar with both hands. World Rowing Championships
The World Rowing Championships is an international Rowing (sport), rowing regatta organized by International Rowing Federation, FISA (the International Rowing Federation). It is a week-long event held at the end of the northern hemisphere summer and in non-Olympic Games, Olympic years is the highlight of the international rowing calendar. Bernkastel-Kues () is a town on the Middle Mosel in the Bernkastel-Wittlich Districts of Germany, district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is well-known for its winegrowing.
