Matrix (musician)
Jamie Quinn, better known by his stage name Matrix, is a British drum and bass producer, DJ, and founder of record label Metro Recordings in London. Musical career 1994-2000: Career beginnings Quinn started his musical career as one half of drum and bass duo Turbosound. The duo was signed to F Project Records, an imprint of Formation Records, operated by DJ SS. As early as 1994, Quinn began to release material as Matrix. Since then, his work has appeared on numerous compilations released by various drum and bass labels. His debut LP, ''Sleepwalk'' was released in 2000 by Virus Recordings (operated by his brother). 2001-2004: Goldtrix In 2001, Quinn ventured into the house music genre as one half of Goldtrix. In 2002, Goldtrix released a cover of Jill Scott's " It's Love (Trippin')", featuring singer Andrea Brown. Shimon Alcoby, who performs and records music as Shimon, is an English DJ, record producer, and founder of AudioPorn Records. Shimon is also affiliated with the drum and bass record label Ram Records, and has published music through Ram since its inception in 1992. Shimon is one third of Ram Trilogy, a collective which also includes Andy C and Ant Miles. Shimon's solo record production work includes the singles "The Predator", "Hush Hush", and "The Shadow Knows". The single "Body Rock" reached number 28 in the UK Singles Chart and number 1 on the UK Dance Singles on 6 January 2002. Ed Rush
Ben Settle, known by the stage name Ed Rush, is a drum and bass producer and DJ. Rush has been releasing records since 1992 primarily with Optical (Matt Quinn), his musical partner since 1997. Along with Optical, he is also the co-founder of the record label Virus Recordings, which releases his records along with other drum and bass acts. He is most associated with the aggressive styles of drum and bass music known as techstep, darkcore and neurofunk. Early career Rush's first releases were a pair of self-released white label 12" singles, the Prince Jammy-sampling "I Wanna Stay in the Jungle" and "Look What They've Done" in late 1992.
