Matija Barl
Matija Barl (17 February 1940 – 3 August 2018) was a Slovenian actor, producer and translator. In 1962 he founded and organized the first, oldest and most important Slovenian music festival called Slovenska popevka. Biography Barl was born in Ljubljana and lived around where he loved to play. When he was 11 years he went to the audition for the movie ''Kekec'' where he was chosen out of more than a thousand kids. He got the role of main character Kekec, a strong and fearless child superhero, for which he is best known today. Everyone identified him with this role so strongly that all the kids in real life wanted to fight with him. So he had to take classes for martial arts such as wrestling and judo. Later he attended the Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana where he studied dramaturgy. Kekec (1951 Film)
''Kekec'' is a 1951 Slovene/Yugoslavian adventure-youth film directed by Jože Gale. It is based on mountain narrative ''Kekec Above the Lonely Abyss'' (), by Josip Vandot, the last of three stories about ''Kekec'', published in Slovenian youth magazine Zvonček in 1924. The film was produced by ''Triglav Film'' and originally distributed by Vesna film, now Viba film. It is set in the northwest part of the Slovenian mountains, mainly in the author's birthplace, Kranjska Gora, and the Julian Alps. This is the first in the Jože Gale film series about Kekec and has two sequels: ''Good Luck, Kekec, Good Luck, Kekec (Srečno, Kekec!)'' from 1963 and ''Kekec's Tricks, Kekec's Tricks (Kekčeve ukane)'' from 1968. Dramaturgy is the study of dramatic composition and the representation of the main elements of drama on the stage. The role of a dramaturg in the field of modern dramaturgy is to help realize the multifaceted world of the play for a production using information from the script, playwright, and the context in which the play was written. It is a dramaturg's job to assist the director and sometimes the playwright, especially if the culture of the play is not fully experience by these people. The term first appears in the eponymous work '' Hamburg Dramaturgy'' (1767–69) by Gotthold Ephraim Lessing. Lessing composed this collection of essays on the principles of drama while working as the world's first dramaturge at the Hamburg National Theatre of Abel Seyler.
