Mathias Gjerstrøm
Mathias Berg Gjerstrøm (born 30 June 1997) is a Norwegian footballer who plays for Kongsvinger as a midfielder. Career Gjerstrøm spent his youth years at Nordstrand IF, and is considered one of the most talented young players in the country, having played for Norway's youth international teams since he was 14. In February 2013, he spent four days training with Manchester United. Gjerstrøm was also a talented handball-player for Bækkelagets SK, with international matches for the Norwegian G-15 team, but decided to focus on football. On 11 August 2013, Gjerstrøm signed for Norwegian Premier League champions Strømsgodset for an undisclosed sum. Gjerstrøm made his debut for Strømsgodset in the 1-4 home loss against Brann on 13 September 2014. On 31 March 2016 he was loaned to Kongsvinger. Oslo
Oslo ( or ; ) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Sportsklubben Brann is a Norwegian professional football club based in Bergen. Founded on 26 September 1908, Brann has played in the first tier of Norwegian football for 67 out of 80 seasons, the second most of any club. Norwegian First Division
The Norwegian First Division, also called 1. divisjon () and OBOS-ligaen (due to sponsoring ties with :no:OBOS, OBOS), is the second-highest level of the Norwegian football league system. Each year, the top finishing teams in the 1. divisjon are promoted to the Eliteserien, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to 2. divisjon. 1. divisjon was previously known as 2. divisjon (1963–1990) and replaced regional league Landsdelsserien (1951–1962) after the latter was dissolved after the 1961–62 Landsdelsserien, 1961–62 season. The 2016 1. divisjon (referred to as OBOS-ligaen for sponsorship reasons) was a Norwegian second-tier football league season. The league was contested by 16 teams, and the top two teams were promoted to Tippeligaen, while the teams placed from third to sixth place played a promotion-playoff against the 14th-placed team in Tippeligaen to win promotion. The bottom four teams were relegated to the 2. divisjon. The first round of the season was played on 3 April 2016 and the season concluded with the last round on 30 October 2016. The 2018 Eliteserien was the 74th completed season of top-tier football in Norway. This was second season of Eliteserien as rebranding from Tippeligaen. The season began on 11 March and ended 24 November 2018, not including play-off matches. Fixtures for the 2018 season were announced on 19 December 2017. Rosenborg were the defending champions, while Bodø/Glimt, Start and Ranheim entered as the promoted teams from the 2017 1. divisjon. Eliteserien () is a professional association football league in Norway and the highest level of the Norwegian football league system. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Norwegian First Division. Seasons run from March to November with each team playing 30 matches (playing each other home and away). Most games are played on Sunday evenings. Eliteserien was founded in 1937 as Norgesserien (), and the first season was the 1937–38 League of Norway, 1937–38 season. The 2016 Tippeligaen was the 72nd completed season of top-tier Association football, football in Norway. The competition began on 11 March 2016. Due to the UEFA Euro 2016, 2016 UEFA European Championship, there was a break between the rounds played on 29 May and 3 July. The decisive matches of the home-and-away season were played on 6 November 2016.
