María Mercedes Pacheco
María Mercedes Pacheco (born 15 September 1976) is an Ecuadorian actress known for her portrayals of various television characters, as well as her work as a presenter for some TV programs. Pacheco is also known for playing 'Estrellita Vespertina' in the comedy series El Combo Amarillo on Ecuavisa. Career Pacheco's first steps on television occurred at the end of the 1990s in the sketch comedy program Ni en Vivo Ni en Directo, in which she participated with Fernando Villarroel, Sofía Caiche, Vicente Romero, José Northia and Álex Plúas. She was also part of TC Televisión productions such as Mi Recinto, Joselito, and participated in the telenovela Sharon la Hechicera on Ecuavisa. Ecuavisa is an Ecuadorian free-to-air television network that was launched on March 1, 1967, on Quito's channel 8 and Guayaquil's channel 2. It is one of the leading TV networks in the country. The channel has an international feed named Ecuavisa Internacional. History The foundations of the main station that would lead to the creation of the current network were held on August 22, 1966, atop Cerro del Carmen, Guayaquil, inspired by the philosophy of the Vistazo magazine. In record time, the building was finished (in four months), as well as the assemblage of the equipment needed for the station (in two months), provided by RCA and General Electric. TC Televisión is a state-run television channel in Ecuador. The network was founded in 1969 and was commercially-funded for many years until 2011 when Grupo Iasaías went into a lawsuit and was sold to a state government unit, Since then the channel has been owned by SERTVSA (Sistema Ecuatoriano de Radio y Televisión) despite a local court ruling that the Isaías brothers return all of their assets from the government. History In early 1969, RCA had completed equipment shipments worth US$600,000 to Cadena Ecuatoriana de Televisión (CETV) in Guayaquil. The transmitter was atop a mountain peak and relayed its signal over seven further transmitters across the country. Sharon ( 'plain'), also spelled Saron, is a given name as well as a Hebrew name. RedTeleSistema (RTS), is a private television station in Ecuador. The channel is owned by Albavisión. The channel is the oldest television station to operate in Ecuador since its inception; HCJB-TV signed on in Quito in 1959 but shut down in 1972. History What is now RTS was the first television station in Guayaquil. In 1959, José Rosenbaum bought some equipment from his native Germany. After a few experiments the station signed on for the first time on December 12, 1960, running from 5pm to 10pm every evening. Rosenbaum cleared channel 4 in Guayaquil; in Quito, he planned to clear channel 11, 12 or 13. The station was operated by Organizaciones Norlop, who signed an agreement with the American network ABC, who owned one third of the shares.
