María Luisa Reid
María Luisa Reid (full name María Luis Reid Rodríguez; b. November 18, 1943) is a Mexican artist from Zacatepec de Hidalgo, Zacatepec in the state of Morelos. She is a member of the Salón de la Plástica Mexicana. She studied decorating and interior design at IPAE from 1960 to 1963. She took classes in wood carving at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas from 1964 to 1966, classes in painting from 1967 to 1969 and classes in Gobelins tapestry at the Escuela de Diseño y Artesanías y Escultura “La Esmeralda” from 1972 to 1973. She continued studying painting at the Escuela de Pintura y Escultura “La Esmerald” from 1978 to 1982, then sculpture at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts Atelier Calca in Paris 1982 to 1986. She completed her bachelors and masters in fine arts at the Paris 8 University, University of Paris in Saint Denis. José Luis Cuevas Museum
The José Luis Cuevas Museum is located just off the Zócalo within the Historic center of Mexico City, in Mexico City, Mexico. The museum and Church of Santa Inés were built as parts of the Convent of Santa Inés (''Agnes of Rome'') complex. The museum is in the convent's colonial era residential hall. Museum By the late 1970s, artist José Luis Cuevas had gathered a large collection of modern artworks by Latin American artists, with the aim of establishing a museum in his name. The collection was kept in the storage facilities of the Carrillo Gil Museum as Cuevas looked for a suitable location for the collection. Zacatepec De Hidalgo
Zacatepec de Hidalgo (Zacatepec from nahuatl Zacatl meaning grass and tepetl meaning hill, thus loosely meaning "grassy hill") is a town in the state of Morelos, Mexico. It is bordered by Puente de Ixtla, Tlaltizapán, Tlaquiltenango and Jojutla. Miguel Hidalgo was the priest whose call to arms on September 16, 1810, led to the Mexican War of Independence.
