Mary, Mother Of Jesus
Mary was a first-century Jewish woman of Nazareth, the wife of Saint Joseph, Joseph and the mother of Jesus. She is an important figure of Christianity, venerated under titles of Mary, mother of Jesus, various titles such as Perpetual virginity of Mary, virgin or Queen of Heaven, queen, many of them mentioned in the Litany of Loreto. ''Maria'' is a 2024 biographical psychological drama film directed by Pablo Larraín and written by Steven Knight. It is an international co-production between Italy, Germany and the United States. The film stars Angelina Jolie as opera singer Maria Callas, and follows the seven days before her 1977 death in Paris, as she reflects on her life and career. It also stars Pierfrancesco Favino, Alba Rohrwacher, Haluk Bilginer, Stephen Ashfield, Valeria Golino, and Kodi Smit-McPhee in supporting roles. Carmélia Maria Neto Lopes Maria (March 4, 1945 − May 10, 1980), more commonly known as Maria, was a South African musician. Maria was born in Lourenço Marques (now known as Maputo) in Mozambique, then a prosperous Portuguese colony in South-Eastern Africa, on March 4, 1945. Her mother, who was of Portuguese origin, was a performer at RCM, . At the age of two, her family moved to Johannesburg, South Africa . Maria began to show interest in music and led private and school parties. In 1964, she started performing professionally in night clubs in Johannesburg, which, at the time, was known as the New York of Africa. She rose to fame after then guitarist Archie Van Der Ploeg suggested her to Stevie van Kerken, lead singer of "The New Trends", for a role in the chorus of a Dickie Loader song, "Help me Forget". Maria Lumiere ( née ''Jensen'' on 13 May 1978), known as just Maria, is a Danish singer and songwriter. Born in Denmark, she grew up living in different parts of Europe. Despite her parents' initial hesitation and the fact that she did not come from a musical family, she decided to pursue a career as a singer. She was eventually discovered and signed by Soulshock, from the writing and production duo Soulshock & Karlin, to Soulpower/ Dreamworks Records. Her first single "I Give, You Take" was released in 2003 and received success on R&B/Top 40 radio. It reached #33 on the Billboard Pop 100 chart. Her debut album, ''My Soul'' was released in September 2003. Dreamworks failed to follow up with promotion for a second single, and she was let go when Dreamworks Records was sold, shortly before the label folded. Maria (stylized as MARIA) was an all female Japanese pop rock band signed onto Sony Music Japan. The band consists of six members. They released their first single on March 8, 2006, titled "Chiisa na Uta". This song is used as the 3rd opening song of the anime Yakitate!! Japan. Also, their single Tsubomi is used as the theme song of Naruto the Movie 3: Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom, and their single Heartbeat was used as an opening theme song of the anime Deltora Quest. In 2006 came out their first album, entitled "You Go!: We Are Maria", but their popularity really came to raise after "Tsubomi" single release. In 2008, though, Maria came out with their first DVD, featuring a live tour for the first album, and was entitled "Maria Live Tour - We Are Maria 2007", which reached the height of 30th place in Oricon parade.
