''María Isabel'' () is a Mexican telenovela produced by Carla Estrada for Televisa. It aired on Canal de las Estrellas from August 4, 1997 to February 6, 1998. ''María Isabel'', is one of the few telenovelas that focuses on the life of an indigenous female protagonist and her community. The story was written by Yolanda Vargas Dulché and adapted by René Muñoz. The series stars Adela Noriega, Fernando Carrillo, Lorena Herrera and Rafael Rojas. Mónica Miguel (born Gloria Chávez Miguel; 13 March 1936 – 12 August 2020) was a Mexican actress, director, and singer. Career Passionate about the arts and especially the theater, she would attend the occasional stage plays that came to Tepic. She joined a performance troupe that was supported by the local administration, but that support came to an end when the administration changed hands. In pursuit of her artistic dreams on the stage, she traveled to Mexico City. She studied theater at the academy of the Asociación Nacional de Actores. Miguel Córcega (, October 29, 1929 in Mexico City – September 29, 2008 in Mexico City) was a Mexican telenovela actor and director. Córcega started his career in acting and directing during the 1940s. Biography Film In the 1960s, Córcega participated in the Viruta y Capulina films '' El dolor de pagar la renta'' and '' Dos pintores pintorescos''.
