María Isabel García Suárez (born 26 March 1978) is a Spanish canoe sprinter who competed in the early to mid-2000s. She won seven medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with three silvers (K-4 200 m: 2001 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships, 2001, 2002 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships, 2002, 2003 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships, 2003) and four bronzes (K-4 200 m: 2005 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships, 2005, K-4 500 m: 2001, 2002, 2003). María Altagarcia García Cáceres (born 10 August 1987 in La Vega) is a Dominican Republican judoka who competes in the women's 52 kg category. She became the first Dominican judoka to win a world championship medal, with a bronze at the 2006 Junior Championships. García has twice competed at an Olympic Games. María Luisa García Sánchez (7 July 1919 – 12 October 2019) was a Spanish Asturian chef, cookbook author and leading expert on Asturian cuisine and the culinary traditions of Asturias. María García is a Mexican photographer and photojournalist, whose work has been recognized with membership in the Salón de la Plástica Mexicana, and the Coatlicue Prize from the ComuArte, Mujeres en el Arte (Women in Art) organization. She was born María del Carmen Sánchez Castañeda in Irapuato, Guanajuato in 1936, but when she was six months old, her family moved to Mexico City where she grew up. As a child, she won a drawing contest with the Excélsior newspaper, and received a camera as a prize. This was the beginning of her work as a photographer, documenting aspects of her life.
