María Emilia Salerni (born 14 May 1983), known as "Pitu Salerni", is a former professional tennis player from Argentina. On 25 February 2008, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 65. On 23 September 2002, she peaked at No. 45 in the doubles rankings. The two-time former junior Grand Slam champion, winning Wimbledon and US Open in 2000, as well as finishing runner-up at Roland Garros, was named the 2000 ITF Junior World Champion. Mariana Mesa Pineda (born 1 April 1980) is a Colombian former professional tennis player. Biography Tennis career Mesa, who grew up in the city of Pereira, made her Fed Cup debut in 1995, having just turned 15. She featured in a total of 12 ties for Colombia during her career, mostly as doubles player, winning seven matches overall. On the WTA Tour, she made most of her main-draw appearances at her home event, the Copa Colsanitas, playing in every edition of the tournament from 1998 to 2000. She had her best performance in 1998, when she made the round of 16 of the singles and was a doubles semifinalist. Spears started playing tennis in 1988 when she was 7 years old, and turned professional in 2000. Spears and compatriot, Raquel Kops-Jones, were one of the most successful doubles team of the 2012 season, winning four tour titles and reaching the quarterfinals of Wimbledon. Laura Granville (born May 12, 1981) is an American former professional tennis player. During the two years she spent at Stanford University, she set the record for most consecutive singles victories with 58 and finished with an overall record of 93–3. Granville won the NCAA Championship in singles as well as the ITA Player of the Year in both 2000 and 2001. In 2001, Stanford won the women's tennis national team championship, and Granville was also a doubles finalist. She retired in 2010 after seven full years on the WTA Tour and returned to Stanford, where she completed her studies and graduated in 2012.
