It was previously used primarily for football (soccer), football matches and served as the home stadium of Shahrdari Tabriz F.C., Shahrdari Tabriz. Currently it is used as a football academy and training ground for Machine Sazi Tabriz F.C., Machine Sazi. The stadium holds 5,000 people and was built in 2014 by the Tabriz, Municipality of Tabriz. Shahrdari Tabriz Cultural and Athletic Club (, ''Bashgah-e Futbal-e Vârzeshi-ye Shiherdari Tebriz'') was an Iranian sports club most widely known for its professional football team based in Tabriz, Iran. Shahrdari Tabriz also has futsal, basketball, road cycling, and volleyball teams. They were promoted to the Iran Pro League after their performance in the 2012–13 season, but their promotion was revoked due to their involvement in a match-fixing scandal, and they were relegated one division to League 2. Shahrdari stopped all their professional teams in order not to accept the FFIRI's penalty. The team's license was moved to Pashazadeh Company. Yadegaran Stadium (Fārsi: Estādiome Yādegārān), also popularly known as Sahand Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Tabriz, Iran. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium was built in 1996 and can accommodate 66,833 spectators. Tractor, the Iran Premiere League side, plays their home games at the stadium. Sahand Tabriz Stadium is part of the Tabriz Olympic Village. History Built Yadegar-e-Imam Stadium was built in 1989 and was opened on 19 January 1996.
