Maryborough, Victoria
Maryborough () is a town in Victoria, Australia, on the Pyrenees Highway, north of Ballarat and northwest of Melbourne, in the Shire of Central Goldfields. At the 2021 census, the urban centre had a population of 7,769, while the larger Level 2 Statistical Area which includes the urban fringe, had a population of 8,160, both an increase of more than 3% since 2016. History The area was originally inhabited by the Dja Dja Wurrung people. The first Europeans to settle there were the Simson brothers, who established a sheep station, known as Charlotte Plains, in 1840. In 1854, gold was discovered at White Hill, four kilometres north of Maryborough, attracting a rush of prospectors to the area. At its peak, Maryborough reportedly had a population of up to 50,000. However, the late historian Betty Osborn, of Maryborough-Midlands Historical Society Inc., using a range of contemporary newspapers and government reports, placed the peak population at closer to 30,000. ''We Will Always Love You'' is the third studio album from Australian electronic group The Avalanches, released on 11 December 2020 through Modular Recordings. Background The Avalanches (Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi) released their second studio album, ''Wildflower'', in 2016. As the album came 16 years after their debut ''Since I Left You'', the group felt they now had a clean slate to work on new material. While on tour for ''Wildflower'' in early 2017, Chater left the tour to battle his alcoholism at a detox facility. Di Blasi continued the tour with a full backing band. After the tour completed, they began work on a new album. Before production began, Chater sold most of his collection of 7,000 records to nurture a fresh start. It was produced by group members Robbie Chater and Darren Seltmann (under the pseudonym Bobbydazzler), and Sampling (music), samples extensively from various genres. The album was recorded and produced at two separate, near-identical studios by Chater and Seltmann, exchanging audio mixes of records they sampled. The Energy Breakthrough, previously known by its sponsorship name RACV Energy Breakthrough, is a joint initiative of the Country Education Partnership, the Shire of Central Goldfields and the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV). The main event involves a 24-hour trial in which students of secondary schools around Australia race their Human Powered Vehicles and Hybrid Powered People Carriers around a street circuit of 1.58 kilometres. The teams which race these vehicles consist of 8 riders, usually four male and four female participants. Leading teams have traveled over 1000 kilometres in the history of the 24-hour trial.
