Martín Insaurralde
Martín Insaurralde (born 30 May 1970) is an Argentine politician of the Justicialist Party. He was ''intendente'' (mayor) of the Lomas de Zamora (municipality) from 16 December 2014 to 20 September 2021, and was previously between 28 October 2009 and 4 December 2013. Between 2013 and 2014, he was a member of the Argentine Chamber of Deputies. From 2021 until his resignation in 2023, he served as chief of the Cabinet of Ministers of Buenos Aires Province, under Governor Axel Kicillof. Political career Early work In 2003, Martín Insaurralde was elected as a councillor in the municipal council of Lomas de Zamora, under the electoral list led by Jorge Rossi as mayor. In the 2007 elections he was re-elected as a councillor under the banner of the Front for Victory, with 17% of the vote. Axel Kicillof
Axel Kicillof (, born 25 September 1971) is an Argentine economist and politician who has been Governor of Buenos Aires Province since 2019. Kicillof also served as Argentina's Minister of Economy from 2013 to 2015 under the presidency of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. Described by his biographer as "the economic guru who captivated Cristina Kirchner", Kicillof was instrumental in the 2012 renationalization of the energy firm YPF. It was on his advice that Fernández de Kirchner decided not to meet holdout bondholder demands to be repaid what they were owed in 2014. In the judicial litigation which ensued, Argentina's position was supported by among others the United Nations, the Organization of American States, the G-77 (133 nations), the Council on Foreign Relations, the American Bankers Association, and bondholders whose payments were stopped by the 2014 ruling. 2013 Argentine Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Argentina on 27 October 2013. Open primary elections (PASO) were previously held on 11 August 2013 to determine eligible party lists for the general election. As in 2011 – when such primaries were held for the first time – each party list had to reach a 1.5% threshold at the provincial level in order to proceed to the 27 October polls. The elections renewed half of the members of the Chamber of Deputies for the period 2013–2017 and a third of the members of the Senate for the period 2013–2019. Sergio Tomás Massa (; born 28 April 1972) is an Argentine politician and lawyer who served as Minister of Economy from 2022 to 2023.
